How did you get your first 100 twitter followers?

Twitter seems to be the most important platform to build an audience for indie makers. How did you get your first 100 followers?

You need to post everyday to make your account looks active but more importantly you need to reply on other people tweets to get the visibility. Setup notifications to make sure you're one of the first to answer.

Sharing your twitter directly to friends and family is simple, but it helps!

Completely agree with the other comments here! Interact with others in any way possible - that's the key. Post at the right time to get the highest reach & look for tendencies on what you're posting. Also, try following people who follow your competitors if you have any - that way, you'll get straight to your target audience. You'll see how it goes. Wishing you luck! 😉

I'd like to add to Tiniolescun's comment, they covered some great points, also try to retweet others and follow + engage with them regularly. It'll take a while but it's worth it.

Full disclosure, I did this for my company's Twitter and not my personal one.

I was struggling the same and the best performing actions were:

    • Engage with bigger accounts replying to their tweets (related to your niche)
    • Be consistent
    • Follow most people as you can in your niche
