Hey IH community!
Hope you guys are staying safe during these crazy times!
I am building a SaaS, subscription model, and I want to validate my idea by getting sign-ups on my landing page.
What marketing methods did you use?
Was it:
I would love to know how you got your first users or HOW you would. I love a good tactical plan so let me know!
Honestly, the very first paid users for StatusGator were people I knew: consulting clients whom I persuaded personally into signing up. So the lesson for me was to start small and local within your circle and use traditional sales techniques.
After those, the first “strangers” who signed up came from some content I wrote as a guest poster on another site. Content marketing really works and if you can, you should start it before you even build your product.
Hey,
A little advice for you. Before you “go out” and try to get users to sign up for your product make sure that you have a crystal clear product key messaging and those users understand the value of using and paying for your product.
Why I’m telling you this? Because even if you’ll try Facebook Ads, ProductHunt or anything else if the users don’t see the value in your product they will not gonna sign up. So maybe you have a great product but your key messaging is poor.
And to answer to your question I suggest to focus on friends/your network on the beginning. Make sure that your product really solves a problem. After you have some validation from your network and you understand more about the audience will be much more easier for you to get users even if we talk about Facebook Ads or ProductHunt.
By the way, I usually help other SaaS founders drive product adoption and now with this COVID-19 thing I do some free consultancy for a few businesses. If you feel that you need help or maybe want to talk more or have some questions, send me an e-mail.
Good luck!
