How did you get your first sale?

I got my first sale (subscriber) by accident. I was building Tiip.app for myself so I could write college assignments faster. One day I randomly mentioned it in a Zoom class and another student emailed me right after the class ended saying he would pay to use it.

Done.

Using Twitter and has helped me to net more than 950 sales. If you want to sell something, you should be on Twitter, and don't forget to build your Email list.

For buildfaster.co I was posting about my template progress and got an email from a customer before my it even launched! First $20 made on the internet.

It felt great.

I got a freelance gig that turned into a product/service sale

After making some internet friends, these good people are the first to buy my product. It was true for my first SaaS (now closed) and a digital product I recently released, Language Learning Resources.

I understand that some of them bought my product just to show support, but it helps to get the product sales going and reaching more people.

I don't think I have ever cold emailed someone before because I personally don't like the method. But I understand that in some cases, say a B2B marketing, it's a well-known strategy.
