How did you learn your marketing strategies?

Hello everyone,

I have a common question to ask: How did you learn your marketing strategies?

Are there any specific links or texts that have been particularly helpful to you, either from others or based on your own experiences? Feel free to share them here. I'm in the process of creating my app and have been reading marketing articles on this page.

Sharing your insights can be a great way to help others learn from your experiences or discover valuable sources.

Thank you for your contributions!

Resources like Gabriel Weinberg & Justin Mares' "Traction" and Neil Patel's blog were helpful to me.

Lots of content consumed, studied, work experience but there is also a great platform called GrowthMentor that I recommend.
You can essentially book meetings with mentors that specialize in all kinds of topics in the field of marketing & sales and you can chat with them about your stuff.

Basics you can also get from ChatGPT nowadays. :-D

Gimme your email I'll send you a book that helped me frame all our distribution efforts into a coherent framework.

This is a never-ending process. But I like to brand myself, this is easier nowadays. As people can relate to people rather than companies.

    I started a subscription-based design agency https://www.pentaclay.com last month.

I marketed my service to X, Reddit, Indiehackers, Hackernews, LinkedIn and Facebook.

Also, listed my company in directories. You can start from these.

I usually watch successful entrepreneurs' podcasts, therefore, I've learned a lot from them. Besides that, I regularly read blogs and watch videos on YouTube. I'm still learning and curious about what other people do to learn marketing strategies.

Reading a lot of blogs and marketing-related content online definitely helped. What are your favorite source to learn about marketing?
