How do I claim my domain for Google Search Console in Netlify's dashboard?

Hi

I tried claiming my domain with Google Search Console by inserting the TXT dns record through Netlify's DNS management dashboard. But Google won't recognize it.

I copy-pasted the string and set it as a value for a TXT DNS record for my domain kasperallerslev.com.

Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you resolve it?

Running dig -t txt +short kasperallerslev.com returns nothing, which means you don't have any TXT records for your root domain. Are you sure you have that record set?

If you can't get DNS verification to work, the easiest way to go about this would be inserting an HTML tag into your layout's <head> element.

Well that worked, but it won't work on subdomains, as I have now only registered the specific address https://kasperallerslev.com

I wonder why the TXT record I've added with netlify's DNS panel doesn't work. Any ideas?

I did that a few days ago and I had to wait 1 hour or two. Did you try to verify your domain imediately?

No, it's 24 hours since I did it now. :-/
