I bought the domain inkd.rip with the intention of building a home for tattooing. I've pivoted the idea recently into perhaps building Linktree for tattooing.
Enable tattoo artists to claim their own personal page where they can bring together everything (booking, frequently asked questions, aftercare information, guest spots, etc...)
I'd like to pitch the idea to tattoo artists in order to validate the idea and find early adopters who'd like to test out the product.
How should I approach people with the idea without seeming too pushy or like a salesman? And where should I approach them? Or should I perhaps set-up a landing page to capture emails and then find communities where tattoo artists hang out to spread it there?
I'm just unsure about the etiquette here...
You can make an attempt from here:

This is a great idea - finding the right artist and booking a tattoo appt is such a broken system.
I had this idea as well and my first thought was just to speak with the next artist I sat with for a few hours about the idea and validate with them and then figure out what their headaches are. If it is a big enough problem, and they are actively looking for a solution then maybe the would intro me around to other artists, and hopefully keep it going from there.
Good luck - hope you fix this!
Thank you! You seem to be leaning more toward a discovery platform as well?
That was my initial plan before quickly pivoting.
Since I don't know have any connections within the tattoo industry, how do you think I could begin to approach people?
Well in normal times I'd book an appointment and use the hours we have together to brainstorm the idea with the artist if they are up for it. Usually, they are pretty chatty.
Right now I'd say is an interesting opportunity since many will not be able to work. They tend to be on Instagram of course so you can find them there, and maybe just tell them your idea in a DM and see if they had a bit of time to chat.
Also - I know many are looking for different revenue streams such as selling art, so if you could find some way to help them/enable that - or to help them through these times (offering a way for people to buy gift cards/vouchers for when they open up or something along those lines).
