How do I grow my tech channel?
I have done a few tech talks in the past, they are on youtube but mostly just watched by my mum and the plumber next door.
I was going to dice them up into shorts, but unsure of how to promote, reddit seems to discourage links to videos, I have 5 followers on twitter and completely lost on how to get started....any ideas?
People mostly promote their youtube videos by posting shorter ones on tiktok and link their channel. It's easier for people to find you randomly on tiktok than on youtube.
Oh! I've never used tiktok, is it similar to youtube in upload format?

I got my first video to go (semi) viral by posting on a trending topic (squid game) and then promoting it on Reddit. First video I ever posted and it's sitting at 165k views now.
Wow, did you post in a channel?
If you post a direct link to the YouTube video it won't get as many upvotes.
Instead, upload a shortened mp4 file and then link the full YouTube video in the comments.
Maybe sharing the shorts on Twitter with the main takeways in posts is the great way to both build your Twitter audience and your Youtube channel!

Yup, definitely dice 'em up to shorts and promote them on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, wherever. Think about it this way - you've created content, now use it on as many platforms as possible. Search for conversations grouping your personas and paste it there. Not as a promotion, rather add value and promote just then.
