How do I improve my blog's domain rating (DR)?

I recently finished building my personal blog website and launching it, the domain rating hasn't crossed zero (0). I currently have 6 blog posts on the site, and according to Search google's console, they are all indexed.

Could there be something I am missing out on? Why hasn't my DR crossed zero even though I started writing on it about two months ago?

What strategy do you use to grow your Domain rating (DR)? Here's my blog: Awa Creates blog.

I built it with Next.js, Tailwind, and Node.js/MongoDB

Your recommendations will be very helpful and much appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation.

Unfortunately there is not a silver bullet or quick way to do this. You really need to get a lot of good organic backlinks on other sites linking to you. You need to let your domain age and continue to contribute to it. Over time it will get ranked but it just takes time.

Thanks for the honest response @enviohq.

I seriously thought there was a quick way to get the backlinks and increased DR. 😕

      1. 3

No worries unfortunately anything quick like paying fiverr folks to get you backlinks tend to backfire. You get low quality backlinks which can actually hurt you more than help you. Your best bet is to just spend sometime working on backlinks. This can be blogs, forums, directories, etc find a bunch and just submit yourself out there. You need backlinks, good quality content and just time to really rank up.

          Alright @enviohq

I will do exactly as you said. Work on getting quality backlinks be patient.

Here are some strategies that may help improve your blog's DR:

    [1] Link Building:
-- Acquire backlinks from high-quality websites.
-- Reach out to other bloggers or websites in your niche and see if they would be willing to link to your site.
-- Create high-quality, informative content that others will want to link to.

    [2] Content Quality:
-- Publish high-quality, original, and useful content that people will want to share.
-- Regularly update your blog with new content to keep it fresh and relevant.
-- Ensure that your blog posts are well-optimized for search engines.

    [3] Social Media:
-- Use social media platforms to promote your blog and its content.
-- Engage with your followers and respond to comments to build a community around your blog.
-- Share your blog posts on social media platforms to increase their visibility.

    [4] Technical SEO:
-- Ensure that your blog is properly indexed by search engines.
-- Use a sitemap to make it easier for search engines to crawl your site.
-- Make sure that your blog is fast-loading and mobile-friendly.

    [5] User Experience:
-- Make sure that your blog is easy to navigate and provides a good user experience.
-- Make sure that your blog is visually appealing and easy to read.

It may take time for your DR to improve, so be patient and keep working on these strategies. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for taking the time to list these strategies @aryansingh_india

These are exactly the strategies I need to follow.

      I really appreciate 🙏

Acquiring high-quality backlinks from reputable websites can help increase your DR.

    1. 1

      That's very true @antovtok.

Do you have a strategy for acquiring these high-quality backlinks? If you do, could you please share?

      Thanks in anticipation 🙇

You need to make a lot of High authority backlinks . Interlinking can also be done.. Promote those blog posts on various websites as well. You will feel the difference.

    1. 1

      I agree, @YourSafeHub

      Thanks for the tip.🙇

  5. 2

This sounds really cheesy (and it will be oversimplified)

But just keep writing content. We went from 0 to 50k monthly sessions in 8 months because we just wrote good content, nonstop. Our DA went from 1 to 27!

    1. 1

      Thanks for the tip @gluska

Now I'm totally convinced that the most important and reliable way to increase DR is by providing quality content to the audience.

      1. 2

Don't even worry about DA tbh. Just write things people actually want to read! And write it often! It sounds so simple and it really is (simple doesn't mean easy though). Think about it from the other way around: Would you stay on a website/keep reading if the content was terrible? Nope... just pretend you're writing to get the attention of yourself

        1. 1

          That's very correct @gluska!

Sounds simple but it's absolutely not easy😃

  6. 2

High-quality content is the key. Publish well-researched, original, and high-quality content that engages your audience and provides value to them.

      You have a point, @nellypo.

Based on many comments on this topic, I absolutely agree with you. Quality content is essential for growing a blog's DR, I should focus on that instead.

You have 6 blog posts on your site and you are hoping that your Domain Rating improves?

    You just started!

You need to generate more traffic to your blog through various growth channels.

Focus on generating traffic to your blog and generating helpful natural traffic and build a healthy backlink portfolio.......in 3 months while being consistent.

Then, ask how you can improve your Domain Rating.

    1. 1

You have a point. I shouldn't be looking to improve DR with just 6 blog posts😅.

Will need to provide more useful content to my audience.

      Thanks BTW🙇

We've grown vidds.co to about 100 clicks per day. Not great, not horrible. A few options:

Give it time. Google will rank you more over time.

Provide value to your target audience. For us, that meant building free tools related to videos. We announced our first free tool on Show HN and got a ton of backlinks from it. Now when we build new pages or tools, they rank very quickly.

ProductHunt also loves free stuff. Even if it doesn't make it to the top 5, it will still get traffic and some backlinks.

My suggestion: Turn your favorite blog post into a code generator. Visual/previewable tools work well. But you can also write a drop-in library.

And, of course, the last option: Pay. We never went through with it, but definitely looked into paying. You can pay around $250-1k for links of varying quality. If you want quick results, be prepared to spend a lot of money! haha

    1. 1

Thank you for the tip @AndrewV

It seems like I am better off focusing on providing more value to my audience than trying to get quick low quality backlinks and risk being penalized by google.

Can you shed more light on this point pls?

The most common way is guest posting to get natural HQ backlinks and it is not going be free. There are certain sellers on fiverrs who can provide such links.

    1. 1

      Okay.

Are there any risks with having someone on Fiverr help create the backlinks?

Do you know someone you can recommend?

      1. 2

I was about to use it but since my project is a bit incomplete, I am holding my self back.

I have not hired anyone yet, but the basic rule of thumb is to go with highest rated Fiverr seller, thats what I might do in future.

        1. 1

          Alright

I will consider that. Thanks for the tip, @KodyBerns99🙇‍♂️

  11. 2

Get links from high DR sites.

    1. 1

Okay, is it by posting on those high DR sites?

And by how much can the DR grow if I did it myself? Or are there tools that can help automate the process of posting on these sites each time I publish a new article?
