How do store the key highlights of what you read?

I was starting to read an article in chrome desktop browser when i noticed that if i want to save some text in the article and for future reference, i have to copy it > navigate to a new page and paste it. I tried using Evernote clipper as a chrome extension, but it ended up creating multiple notes for one page i was reading

I was thinking if there's an extension that simplifies this and also wanted to know how people are doing it today.

I have also started looking at notion api(unofficial) to build this chrome to notion note taker.
