We have launched our first startup which is in a form of an android and iOS app, and we are planning to accept subscription payments to offer premium features,
We have one option which is "Stripe", however "Stripe" requires a registered company in USA, which we don't have, so, does anyone has a suggestion for any alternative?
Paypal.
Whenever such questions are asked, I have noted gumroad.com is never mentioned. The only drawback currently in Gumroad is you cannot prefill custom fields. @sahil is working on this and will launch the feature soon.
However, I have used their license key feature, which you can use to check if the subscription is valid or expired. Worth checking it out.
You can prefill custom fields now!
Wow! That's super. :)
Could you please help with the docs? Can't find them.
Yes! https://blog.gumroad.com/post/183919922373/autofill-your-checkout-form
Would you recommend it over Paypal? because it seems that Gumroad pricing is higher than Paypal
Yes. the pricing is higher. Not sure about the recommendation here. I tend to find using Paypal a little tedious. It asks the customer to signup.
Let me know how, if you used Paypal.
Paddle.com is a good but expensive alternative. I use it right now on one of my projects and for the time being I'll probably stick around with it!
Very expensive indeed
It seems that Paypal offers online payment gateway as mentioned by @hamzoun and it's fees is 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, is there a specific reason why have you chose Paddle instead?
Yup, Paypal has some weird restrictions when it comes to South Korea, which is unfortunately where my company is located.
you can use PayPal Checkout, this is supposed to work with one payment only, but I use it for subscriptions, each month users have to pay manually.
setting up Checkout is very easy and quickly (1 - 2 hours for the first time you read the docs).
Google also provides Google Pay which works the same as PayPal Checkout.
this is my own solution for my MVP.
same questions :D
