How do you announce new features?

Hey all, my app has two sides with one side being full of "power users". Think the drivers on Uber or hosts on Airbnb – people who need to know the rules and features in-and-out.

Whenever I have a new feature that every power users needs to be notified about I send a mail to the mailing list and push an @channel to our shared Slack. That seems to take care of things, but not always.

Do you use anything to publicly announce new features? Thinking of some way to publish & edit popups or have some sort of roadmap notifier.

    I send a newsletter.
    Post in:

    • Dribbble.
    • Instagram
    • 8 FB groups
    • Reddit ( really important )
    • LinkedIn
    • Sometimes Behance
    • Twitter
    • DevTo
    • Indie Hackers

Then you feel the traffic coming in...

How did you find the relevant FB groups? Were there open to join or you had to apply to get in?

Well , this goes back to 2017 when I was learning how to code and ui design.

I used to be in Freecodecamp learning chanels from different cities, then UI/UX designers, Figma Designers...Designers Guild.

Some I had to be approved, some not.

I post maybe once a month because I started to "market" the project since the first day ...

For Pod Hunt, I have a change log where I write about new features or bug fixes.

I then include a link to the post in the weekly newsletter and share on social media too.

Hello @dqmonn you can use in-app hotspots, and maybe also launch a product tour to explain how the new feature work

Been using Beamer (https://www.getbeamer.com/?rfsn=3441437.e72fda <- affl link) for a while & it's great.

Shows up as a badge in the webapp. And comes with a standalone changelog page too.
