I try to follow the approach on my bootstrapper's guide and do a soft launch where I dm people to try out my product. Since a conversation has already started its much easier to ask for a review
Find someone who has used your product for a while/an early user. Email them and let them know that you're reaching out to them because they're one of your earliest users and ask them for their number if you could call them and discuss your product for feedback. During the call, ask them for a testimonial.
I like the idea of asking someone over chat what they thought about the product. When they do, ask em if the'd mind if I posted this as a testimonial.
Prewritten is a bit unethical but you could guide them too. Like "did you like how we..."
