How do you balance your time between developing and marketing?

We've all heard about "rules of thumb" like 50% development, 50% marketing. But how do you actually do it in practice? Do you feel guilty for not doing one or the other more?

    I don’t balance the two. I’m a builder. 😎

I'd like to say that I follow a strict schedule for this, but as a matter of fact it's a completely random process 😂 I only market when I'm bored with building, and vice-versa.

I love this, try to hold my self to this too but it's completely random. If I am in the mood to code. If I am not, I market.

I spent the mornings buildings and the evenings marketing :)

I read on Twitter someone does one week of building, one week of marketing to keep them separate.
Haven’t tried yet, though in the pipeline.

I like the idea more of "build once, sell twice". I can have something already built that I can then focus on just selling it. I tend to get much more distracted if I'm doing any type of split. I either have build days or sell days.

I start my day with marketing and code post lunch.

I find it more enjoyable to combine the two e.g programmatic seo, twitter bot, tools etc.

When I want to code, I literally stop myself. It works to keep mentioned balance ;)

I am more of a developer and got stuck putting off marketing for a long time because I see it as a lot more difficult. I now told myself that the product is a good enough state (MVP) and am focusing on marketing 90%, only fixing bugs or stuff in response to user feedback.
