How do you build resilience?

Being a founder is a game of resilience. I expected in on some level when I quit my job and took on entrepreneurship full time. But it's surreal when you're in it.

I wrote some thoughts on building resilience muscle as a founder. A sneak peek at my reps:

  • Deeply know your why
  • Prioritize thinking time
  • Amplify your strengths
  • Re-energize
  • Have fun

What are your reps to build resilience?

Looking to get inspired by more makers out there :)

Resilience is about getting back on your feet after being knocked out. To be resilient you need to learn why you are falling down. For me that means paying attention to my self-talk (that voice in your head), reflective journaling (don't stay stuck in the past), and taking agency (not thinking that I'm only a product of my environment). That has helped me get up after rejections and traumatic events.

After my first failed pass at building a co in 2016 here are my learnings:

    • Build a community of friends and family who will be there for you
    • Make sure to eat/sleep well
    • Remember to ask for help
    • Fail a lot and always be pushing yourself (but chill a bit if you feel like it's dramatically affecting the first three bullets)

Thanks for sharing @gimelgabriel! So important to have a great support community. And I love the way you put it - chill a bit if the top three reps are affected.
