Recently, I was working on a side project. I just wanted to know what are all the ways to collect feedback from a customer without annoying the user of the application.
Do you use any Saas product to handle the customer feedback?. is there any best tool out there for growing startups/indie hackers to collect the customer feedback?
I am looking for a cost-effective tool to handle this situation
I created https://kritikos.app to make it easy to collect anonymous feedback. Simply make a session and share its link. You get a lot of responses for free.
This looks good. Great work on the product!!!
Thank you! I built it as sort of a SaaS repository of anonymous feedback. It's a flexible tool.

Hi, Interested to talk more about your problem statement. Let me know if we can catch up to discuss

I have a mobile app that presents an alert to the user that asks them to complete a short Typeform survey. I only prompt users who use the app frequently.
Interesting. do users give feedback most of the time in this method?. will you do this as a one-time thing or on a timely basis?
I would get lots of feedback when the app was free. But then people stopped filling out the form when I started charging money for the app. I don't know why that's happening yet.
Okay. I got some strategy suggestions for it. let me know if you're interested to talk about it.
yeah definitely! Wanna send me an email? My email is noted in my profile.
Sure.
I’ve tried many tools for collecting feedback, and I have found the solution that works better than anything else (I should really write a blog post about it). What I have is a Zapier action that triggers whenever someone signs up. It then does some unrelated admin for me, but then delays for a few hours. It then sends a personal email from my gmail (using the gmail integration) to the user. The email is very short and sweet and asks only one thing: what could we do better?
Because this is (as far as anyone can tell) a personal email, I get a large amount of responses. Most of the time it’s just people complimenting the application, but sometimes it gives me a kickoff point for valuable feedback.
I have another action set up on cancellations that asks why they canceled. It’s also very short and personal and has about a 50% response rate.
Ping me if you’d like more details. My project is https://justsketch.me
Unrelated to feedback tools: Your site is really well done. It's a great example of how to reach & help visitors while staying focused on your mission.
Your feedback setup seems similarly well done. 🙂
Thank you! :D
Great Product. Well done. Also, I agree with your approach. Customers trust the product more and give feedback when it's a personal message. Let me some if we can catch up to discuss your approach in detail. I do have some strategies and problem statement to address in this space.
Tell you what, I'm going to write up my method in detail and post it to Indie Hackers. Just give my profile a follow (I think that you get notified if I post something? I'm not actually sure).
Be super patience to talk to and listen to your customers directly.
Tools helped. But also think from the scalability perspective.
True. Customers trust more when we communicate with them directly.
Hey @ganeshmani009, we're building a feedback management platform –– launching really soon. Would be happy to walk you over and get you up and running.
Here's the link - https://rapidr.io
Also, we're giving away 20 lifetime FREE deal on our launch day if that interests you. Otherwise, I'd personally concierge you and hook you up with early bird pricing.
That's so cool. i will check it
I have implemented a simple bug/Feature tracker on the website of my hobbyproject. Users can also upvote requests: https://krake-paul.de/feedback
Hey @ganeshmani009 definitely, I see where you’re coming from. There are a tonne of tools out there so it really depends on what you think your users will need. :)
Here’s a generic collection of different feedback tools: https://feedbacktools.org/
If the type of user interaction is real-time and more handholding, I’d look into the class of real time chat tools (like intercom).
If what you’re looking for is a survey format every so often, Typeform or Google sheets is great.
I’m the author of See Memo btw (seememo.com) that adds a customisable feedback widget to your website/app. You can control how often a widget is shown (once only) and where it’s shown (eg post checkout).
Hope this list helps!
That's so cool. it is something that I have been looking for. let me explore this a bit more.
We use upvoty. It’s from a guy here from IH
I can recommend https://canny.io/ from our fellow IH'er @sarah !
Uclusion uses LogRocket which has a free tier. Note that you may have to expand your terms of use a bit to make sure you are covered for using a tool like this.
That's cool. Let me know if we can catch to discuss the problem statement and strategies in this particular space. Curious to understand how LogRocket solves your problem in detail. Thank you!!!
Any time - you can get on our calendar from the website Uclusion or email [email protected].
I just launched Gitologie yesterday to help people working on open source projects get feedback from the right users. Check it out and let me know what you think! https://gitologie.com
Hotjar's poll and feedback box has been very useful for me.
we‘ve built feedback.fish for that! :)
I actually recently decided to send a survey to existing customers, asking 6 short questions about my product. I just used a Google Forms survey and sent it through Gumroad's email system. The email was delivered to ~60 people and 12 responded, the majority in a few minutes or hours after I sent it.
It went a lot better than expected, I think I will regularly send surveys (max 1 per month to not be spammy) to existing customers to better decide what features to work next.
I join their Slack or Discord channels and give them updates personally, as well as asking questions. If they don't have a channel, I invite them into my Slack in a so called Guest Channel.
But that's easy to say when you've got less than 30 customers 😅
Hi Ganesh, there are tons of other tools, but my favorite being Feedmonkey. I would recommend it because; i was part of the team that worked on the tool and 2, we invested a whole lot of effort to make sure it delivers the best design and functional wise. You can checkout it feedmonkey.io
Do let me know if you’ve got any question with regards setting up. 😊
