How do you come up with blog post ideas?
Original ideas are hard to find, but IH is a great place to start. I often use this site as a jump off point after collecting a few reads from here and summarizing with my own thoughts and ideas.
I think that is the problem with many writers; they believe that their topic/idea to write about something has to be original/unique. They feel like “this topic seems so mundane, everybody already knows about this topic, and there are already thousands of articles written around it, so why should I add one more?
That is just because you live in that bubble; it seems like it is not worth writing about it.
The way I see it, though, as the internet is like you when you went to college/university.
The first day you arrived, you did not know anything. Not where the toilets were, which teacher to ask for which subject, where the great parties were, etc.
However, after hanging around for a couple of years, you and all the people around you know all these things. So that knowledge just seems trivial; why would you write a guide on where the great parties are? Everyone knows this, right?
Wrong!
The internet is filled with new “students” arriving every day. They don’t know this stuff, and they are searching for answers to these questions. So if people are searching for it, you might as well be the source for those answers.
And hey, maybe something nice comes out of it, and you find the person of your dreams to which you give the answer, and you can stay happily ever after.
So go out there and write that amazing content 💪
Besides the occasional idea, which I write down in my to-do app (TickTick), I also try to sit down from time to time to activity come up with new blog ideas for Remote101.
This process is partly looking back at my journal and whether I marked any thoughts as exciting topics for a blog post. But I am also going through Twitter, Youtube, Reddit, to see if I like to provide my angle on a particular topic.
I usually keep a page on my note taking app (I use Bear, but most people seem to love Notion etc.) where I stick all my 'blog post ideas' as they come to me. Seeing as the app runs on my phone etc. I can jot down ideas wherever they come to me (i.e. on my morning walk etc).
I usually hand write in a daily journal as well, and I find that often, I write something down that I have been thinking about or wrestling with, and I think to myself "Oh, that would make a good blog post or tweet" and I jot it in the margin of my notebook and after I finish my writing session, I transfer that to the Bear app as well so the idea is captured to be revisited later.
I now have more ideas in Bear than I have time to write them up on my blog!
I essentially do the same thing and while I still don't publish as often as I like to, I'm getting better at it.

Write down ideas somewhere you can review (I use Trello, but Notion or Bear or whatever works) and let them percolate. Sometimes your daily journal will turn into a draft.
One way you can come up with blog post ideas is looking at Amazon book listings. When you search for books in your niche/topic you want to cover you can easily see the top selling books. Choose the ones that have the “look inside” option and check out their table of contents. 🎇 BOOM! Lots op title ideas for your upcoming blog posts… you can even check out the review section and read through the feedback to see what people missed in the books or wanted a more deep dive into certain topics.
Same for the topic outlines of Udemy courses in your niche, these can serve great for individual blog posts too.

I've not written any yet as I'm brand new to the platform.
However, I created a list of 6 topics in about 5 mins.
From that, I started jotting down my thoughts on it, and every time part of that blog post would require me to "over-explain something" I would jot that down as another title for a post. That way my posts aren't overly long, super detailed posts. Personally, I'd rather write and consume shorter more digestible posts.
And taking that approach will make it easier to consistently publish if I know the post is just a few hundred words maybe.
