How do you come up with names?

How do you come up with the name of your product/startup?

Do you first finish an alpha version of your product/service & then decide or it happens parallelly?

I usually register the domain name only to let it die eventually as during the time of registration I have thousands of idea to launch it but lack of time/resources to actually start working on it.

Example: Magical Ledger (.com) was bought recently to collaborate with someone to launch an online ledger service for SMBs with integration of several invoicing products/services (Zoho, Quickbooks, etc.)

Offtopic: I do have a lot of ideas but no technical ability to start working on it. I'm more of a marketing/creative type of guy.
