How do you come up with profitable software products

Basically, I lurk subreddits for topics I'm interested in and see if users would find a certain product or service helpful. But I'm wondering, how do you guys come up with ideas. Maybe it's to really understand a sector and talk with people who are in the industry?

    Search for "unbundling Craigslist". It's a treasure throve of ideas.
