I’m familiar with creating and posting articles on Reddit, Facebook, Hacker News, and using Medium. But not sure how to keep finding new readers. What’s your content distribution strategy?
A few of the biggest channels for content distribution:
@csallen Yeah I knew SEO would likely be the top dog eventually because you would show up at the right time. I’m working on the remarkable part also and think that will improve with time and developing a style.
Still working my medium of content either through video or articles. Definitely need to start getting email subscribers. From my email subscribers that can assist with that person sharing the article with their network.
Currently I have 8 articles on Medium and they’ve done decent numbers to show I’m at least heading in the right direction.
So I’m currently thinking produce an article, focus on getting eyes on it for the release, but don’t worry about continually bringing eyes back to old articles. Bank on SEO, new subscribers, and sharing over time.
Don’t forget about paid ads, especially FB ads.
If done properly, it can drive qualified and cheap top of the funnel traffic to your website.
If you are able to convert this traffic into email addresses you’ll slowly build a good reader base 😉
I like this angle. Thanks for sharing @andreabosoni

The brilliant part about those you mentioned is that they have new readers all the time. Your content gets more and more reach each time you post there.
While yes you can build your email list (as mentioned in a previous comment) You can also get distributed by other email lists. Also, individuals who are great at SEO and have a dedicated audience. Podcasts, Blogs, etc. Keep a google sheet of them and keep tabs on what they are up to.
Do you have an email list? You can add content upgrades to your posts (let readers download a useful / relevant additional piece of content in exchange for their email) to start collecting email addresses.
