How do you convert signups into actual users?

Hey all,

We've had a ton of signups on our app, but our conversion rate from signups to people who actually install our app on their websites is pretty low (we are a JS snippet that customers have to put on their websites). It's frustrating to spend a ton of time and effort acquiring a customer, having them seem excited, and then they don't actually install.

We've made our product super easy to install (it takes less than a couple minutes). What are some other ideas for getting customers who sign up to actually use your product, besides emailing them incessantly?

Have you asked your signups why they didn’t install it yet?

    Carrot.

Give them a carrot after installing. Double trial. 2-months premium. 25% off. T-shirt.

Have you ever conduct any conversation with potential users?

    For instance:

    1. Why are you not using the product?
    2. What are the roadblocks
    3. Do they need any user guidelines to take it forward?

    Other than that:

    1. Where do you get all these sign ups from?
    2. Are those from reliable sources?

Are the customers signing up the right customers? Look at the customers that did embed your snippet and see if there's any correlation between them (size of company, industry, geography, job role, etc). Ideally speak to both converted customers and non converted customers to understand clearly the difference between them. (This answer is caveated with the assumption your onboarding is close to perfect - minimal friction - as you suggest it is.)

    Hi Kunal,
you should understand that it is important that targeted prospect download your app.

But if you aren't paying for those acquired users and just want to convert as much as possible (this is the case if people come from the app store) you have to first make them feel they have to pay the full version of the app to be completely satisfied, this can be done letting them use the app at its best but for a limited amount(don't know what that does) and then create a connection with your signed up users with storytelling/engaging with them in a natural way, and if you have not too many users write them manually, to let them feel cared by you.

Let them use the app as much as you can, without spamming them obviously.
