Dealing with customer deadlines, trying to find a bug in my code when I have a deadline, family pressures, yeah, I sometimes get hit by anxiety. I can see a few others have discussed therapy in the comments below. I must say I'm a big fan of somatic therapy. Life changing in terms of dealing with anxiety. Basically, get out of your head, and into your body. Thanks for asking the question Mark. On point. I can't highly recommend this practice enough, Ron's a somatic therapist himself, check it out. He's based in Melbourne, but we're in a zoom world, and I see him from NYC: https://ronnieadamowicz.com/anxiety-counselling-melbourne/

You know, my country is at war right now. Every day could be the last. People are dying because Russian shells hit houses, shopping centers, service stations, and train stations. That's why I can't help worrying. I started a month before the war because the situation was already tense. Everyone had a premonition of bad things to come. Now my parents are in the invaded territory. I pray every day that my relatives are alive and healthy. Their telephone and internet connection is often lost. There were weeks when we couldn't get in touch. Many people are kidnapped, maimed, or killed by Russian soldiers.
I can't imagine how people who are dealing with loss feel.
Of the practical advice I draw from online, I can advise:
Adhere to your regimen. Work, eat, sleep. Be useful to yourself, your country, and your family.
    Do chores. Cleaning, cooking, laundry.
Talk to someone about your feelings. It could be a therapist. In Ukraine, many give free counseling in connection with the war. It can also be friends, colleagues, or relatives. It is important to share such feelings.
Take care of yourself! I found some information on https://www.counsellinginmelbourne.com.au/is-counselling-the-best-option-to-deal-with-grief-and-loss/.

That's the crux of it all, isn't it?

The uncertainty of our goals and aspirations creates an easy target for our subconscious
to send negative, limiting, and fear-based signals.

So anytime I pursue big goals, I tell myself to expect an onslaught of negative thoughts.

Not because I want to manifest them, but because I want to pre-empt them.

    Then I get to work.

I craft self-talk statements in 3rd person and I keep them at the ready.

My brain's also looking for evidence that I can pull it off, so I study the hell out of whatever I'm pursing. I double down on my competency and start placing bets.

I take action and initially ignore the results. It's all practice and I want more at-bats.

Being active scares off the anxiety.
    Self-talk keeps me positive.
And competency gives me focus & confidence.

    That's my take on it.

    Systems help.

You build a routine of taking consistent actions that you know will lead you to success.

Build an environment in which you can't fail.
