How do you currently get financial forecasts for your business?
Hello all! Founder of trypital.com. I am generally curious as to how you guys currently get financial forecasts for your businesses? Freelancer, firm, etc? Thought IH would help me find the answer! Appreciate it.

First off: love the idea behind Pital & Co.
Secondly, I have my own pro bono service wherein I provide similar forecasts and valuations to early-stage startups; I can see that your product is aimed at startups that are interested in automating the process and that's why I find your product very exciting from a finance perspective!
However, though it's not what you asked, I have a question of my own about your product; I read in your post history that you use weighted DCF and current market conditions so for the latter, which "market conditions" do you compare it against? For example, if you use the US market then I would suppose that would be a different scenario as opposed to a startup in the UK - or do you use some sort of average for that as well?

Hey! Great question and thank you so much for that! Currently, our valuations use the US market conditions. With the reason being I have only really targeted the US.
You are not the first one to bring that up though and I have been working on taking our algos and applying them to the UK, Australia and Canada markets as well especially because I see a HUGE use case with this for equity crowdfunding which is very popular in those countries.

Ah I see that makes more sense! Maybe you could highlight it on the homepage that it's only for US companies right now to prevent any confusion for people like me? Nonetheless, I still love your idea especially because it's something that I'm involved in - doesn't always happen!
