I have an issue as of late. I do a lot of cold calling for my product and a lot are interested but say they are busy and they will call me back when they have time to schedule a demo.
Is this a sign that my product is not interesting enough to them or is it just that they are plainly busy as they say?
If so, how do i get them onboard faster? Nudge them every now and then or let them call me with the hope that they don't forget?
It's a problem I also run into lately when I'm trying to find clients for ReviewTycoon.com. And it's not even cold leads I'm chasing, but they're already part of my network.
These days, everybody is busy and has thousands of things on their to do list. And your project is probably not on top of their list.
So that means you have to be persistent. Keep calling, nudging, mailing, etc. Just because they don't respond, doesn't mean they're not interested.
I understand that but I don't want to push them away by being too persistent. Guess, I need to contact in specific intervals with exponential offset.
I understand that you don't want them push away, but if you don't push you won't make the sale either.
Just stay polite and subtle and most people will forgive your pushiness
Guess I won't know until i try, thanks for your comments
For me, this is a sign that what I am offering just isn't needed that much for them right now.
Something my teammate did recently was an unsolicited effort. The potential client needed an Office Admin, and didn't have the time to make the job post or talk much with us. My pal wrote the job post in a google doc, described his biz and the position beautifully, and the potential client was like "alright let's talk tomorrow." He said, "I rarely get to be inspired by others, thanks."
One month later, we finished the first test month of work together, and despite not seeing the results we wanted, he wants to use us on his other (more profitable) business that we can almost guarantee results on.
Not exactly scaleable, I know, but what the heck. If you've got it in you to just help the dude out, he may feel grateful and be willing to throw you a bone.
