How do you deal with revenue anxiety?

Some days I have a bunch of users sign up and pay, and I feel great. But some days nothing happens, and I have no idea why, and it affects my happiness more than it should.

How do other people deal with this?

I have similar swings with Indie Hackers on a regular basis. It's hard not to get your emotional well-being caught up in your business. I'd be lying if I said that I had a great solution... I'm just lucky to not be affected so much by anxiety, so it kind of just rolls off of me.

I recommend taking a look at Pieter Levels' post on this topic: https://levels.io/anxiety/

In general, it makes me happy to see people talking about this stuff in the open more often. Society tends to downplay the psychology behind things, but it's important! So we should bring it to the forefront.

Thanks, the article was interesting. Sounds like he had it a lot worse than I do!

I have one business where revenue fluctuates quite a lot like that. What helps me is that my living expenses are low in comparison to my savings so I know that I won't go broke if one month is bad. Without knowing anything about your financial situation at all, maybe reducing your living expenses could help?

Thanks Michael. My living expenses are pretty low, a necessity for only doing my day job 2 days a week :)

Hopefully I'll get used to the fluctuations in time.
