How do you deal with self doubt and rejection?

I recently realized that working through my emotions is a pretty important piece of starting a business (at least for sensitive people like myself).

Every morning is a chance to procrastinate on doing that scary thing, every sales call - a chance to be rejected, every marketing effort could fail and cause me to doubt myself, my project and my life choices. It's a very bumpy road.

How do you guys deal with the emotions that come up while building your business? Has it ever been a major obstacle on your path?

I usually try to quantify things like in some relative scale how much do I deserve currently and how far is the point I qualify. I try to sepearte which of my past failures were just bad luck and which of those were my fault and as always they say " truth liberates"

“You know what makes you feel okay about losing? Winning.” - Molly Bloom from the movie Molly's Game.

Every failure is an opportunity to learn something. It helps you identify what you need to improve.

However, you don't always need to stretch yourself so far that failing hits you so hard that it is discouraging you from continuing. Compare it to free soloing climbing (where you climb without the protection of equipment like ropes). Stretch yourself too far and you would hurt yourself real bad or even die. Yet, you can see people like Alex Honnold climbing Yosemite without any protection. He is not a crazy person but is able to do it because of the confidence acquired after countless small steps of stretching himself to improve.
