How Do You Find a Specialist for a Small Project?
We all hit roadblocks. Where do you find a specialist who can fix the things you cannot or can do it at a fraction of the time it will take you to do it? How do you value one specialist over another?
As an example, I'm actively looking for a developer who specializes in converting a WordPress site into a static web site. I don't typically use marketplaces for developers / specialists. They can leave it anytime and finding a replacement is difficult a year or two after the project gets completed.
fix simple things fast is not as easy or simple as it sounds.
i can dive into my project and make a fix in 5 minutes, but someone that hasn't worked on the code base might need a week without context. since i built up that knowledge over time. think of it like finding something in your house, you can go home and find it in a few seconds, but if you have a stranger, they might have to go room from room looking for it and still not find it after a full day. code is like that.
with that said tho, if all your'e trying to do is convert wordpress to a static site, there might already be tools to do that. if you don't find one, then try upwork.
