How do you find Product Hunters?

What's the best way to find people to hunt your product on PH? Is there a standard way to pitch products to the most popular hunters?

And how much of a difference will it make to be hunted by a popular hunter rather than hunting it yourself?

Hey Dominic! 👋 I was one of the first 100 users of Product Hunt right from the newsletter days before ProductHunt.com came into existence.

Since 2013, have helped over 2000 companies launch on Product Hunt and one of the top hunters.

It used to matter earlier because PH used to notify a popular hunter's followers. It does help to an extent but all that matters is building a great product that people love.

Happy to help you launch on Product Hunt when ever you are ready!

Hi Kevin! You were one of the "popular hunters" I had in mind :)

Would love your help if you have the time although we won't be launching for another month or two. What's the best way to reach you?

Will be reaching out, Kevin and hope to have your support

From my experience it doesn't matter that much (any more). But I recently stumbled upon this, if you'd rather not roll the dice: https://chrismessina.me/hunt-me

In my opinion, it still matters. Especially in terms of how many followers you and the hunter has. Top hunters have usually thousands of followers on PH and these are notified about the new hunt.
That can help you to get more traction at the start.

And the product itself matters a lot. Very specific products that target a smaller audience get fewer upvotes of course.

they dont notify followers anymore..so no of followers of a hunter doesnt matter anymore.

Kevin I mean the notification icon. If you hunt new product I get a notification in the top bar for about 30% - 50% you hunt.

That's a good point. I don't have many PH followers so I think the initial boost would definitely help.

      Good to know - thanks!

This sums it up nicely: https://bookshlf.com/post/pyboy0
A guide written by PH itself.

To answer your questions: networking, depends on the hunter, not much it seems. Good luck!
