Email Marketing is cumbersome for those who are not interested. Also, it can be really painful to learn from scratch. How do fellow indie hackers keep themselves updated on email marketing area? Do you follow notable people, blogs or just following "learn by doing" method?
I learn by doing, also I learn by observing other people's emails.
What was the best email example you have seen recently?
I think the emails are exactly like the old-fashioned direct marketing where you used to receive physical advertisements in your mailbox. You can sense the trends if you sign up to 10+ prominent newsletters.
Personally though, I think trends are not sexy. Most money-making strategies are boring and timeless.

Your question is little vague though. Are you talking about the copy? Writing headlines? Perfecting CTA’s? Or the technical side of things?
