Hi, I'm looking for a better promotion strategy for my small biz:
It's a writing service for blogs, magazines or other purposes.
My question is, how do you folks promote your business? I've tried google ads and some "solo ads".
If you have business that can help mine get clients on a tight budget please introduce me to it :) or if you can recommend me something then it will be great. I'm not much of an influencer so sharing in social media wont work for me.
Hi @ricardogeek!
Sales and getting new clients are ALWAYS the most painful things for a creative like you and me. The harsh reality is, regardless of what you build/offer/sell/give away, they won't come just because the product/service is excellent.
You need to define your target group and figure out an effective way to reach out to them manually.
Let me give you an example:
I am the founder of a software development company named Altalogy, and I'm sure our website can have a better copy.
How would you approach me given that you found me on LinkedIn? What value would you propose to me?
Let's take for a moment potential customer perspective:
I visited your website, got to the pricing section, and....
I have no idea what the difference between basic, elite, premium, elite+ is. Also, I don't know how many words I need, so I can't relate this pricing to my actual needs.
On the other hand, if you would offer:
for a fixed price, that would undoubtedly help me understand the value you provide.
You might say - some websites can have two subpages, while others have 20, how can I possibly do it for a fixed price?
Then, charge per subpage, or per section.
I hope this helps and gives you a better perspective on the redefine your offer based on clients' value perception.
You will see that getting this part right will do magic, provided that you sell your service directly, instead of waiting for someone to discover you.
Cheers!
Hi,
Thanks for your feedback about the product, I guess my initial toughts where going towars content automation, like a product aimed to people who constantly post content marketing pieces in their business blog, or release newsletters or press releases.
The second phase for this project is develop a wordpress plugin that will publish all your planned, paid and approved pieces to your wordpress blog automatically, and give support to more blogging engines with time. That is why the "per word" pricing is like that, given that also the writers I'm partnering with also charge per word, so the profit model remains simple.
I tried contacting people in linkedin as you suggested, but never had a response. I guess cold messaging is a fine and delicate art :), maybe I can hire someone in the future to do this for me.
Thanks for making me think and consider new features like the "per page" pricing model to introduce it in a following iteration.
