I am sure COVID has impacted many families as well as organizations. As an indie dev, I am now supposed to sit home and work. Sometimes when the burnout takes over, the most difficult for me is to handle my family. I am already stressed with timeline and productivity, and they are there to remind me of it, which actually makes me mad at them . Moreover, it is enhanced by giving me examples of people around who are performing well!
I'd like to know from the community if this has happened to anyone and if so , how do you manage to get over it.
Regards,
You sound a bit stressed. As someone whom burnt out, burnout is something which makes you sit on a couch, and stare forwards for weeks on an end. Pair it with depression and you have the added choice of laying in bed all day long.
A few tips to prevent this kind of burnout:
It's actually pretty okay to tell your family to leave you alone for a bit. After all, if you're not even able to take care of yourself, how can you take care of them? If you try to push it you'll become a burden to them even more than if you tell them to leave you alone.
Last but not least, don't get mad at your family. They deserve your undivided attention, too.
yeah, apparently I went mad at them, it in-turn bought more problems. Guess I need to discuss with them , the need for some " ME TIME". Thanks btw, these words are of great experience!
Here's what you're going to do, sleep, eat well and walk outside. Even a 10-minute walk will make a difference. Your mind needs to heal. Just do nothing and take it all in. Those are the first steps. Don't think about the future. The present is all that matters to you. Be gentle with yourself.
Thanks for this, lately I realized, this works best, and for anyone in this situation, this is the answer. Thanks @roguson!
anything that breaks you out of monotony.
Will consider that buddy!

Yeah I know, your personality traits match to those of depressed. These options were hypothetical, just thinking if people would do these, rather I got my answer through the poll, ideality doesn't work in reality!
