How do you handle the stress of wanting to "make it"?

It's one of these days.

I so deeply want to get to a point where I can just support myself and get my time back - somewhere in the area of 2k - 3k$ / Mo. But it is hard.

There are too many ideas in my head and I want to start 3 projects at a time but I know that focus is super important, too.

How do you handle the stress one puts on himself and how do you handle the urge to build a lot of things vs. focusing on one? When do you move on?

    Hey man,

I know how you're feeling here. You want the end goal so bad and you'll work hard at anything to make it happen, I've been there.

I use the 'stress' as positive momentum but I definitely don't see it as stress. The journey of building different products, figuring stuff out and trying to make money is all about learning and enjoying what you're doing. If you're starting to feel stressed about not 'making it' you should try and shift your perspective because you're not doing it for the right reasons.

You have to be consistently persistent at trying to make one of your projects work.

I'm the same with having loads of projects, I have 4/5 going at once. I know I probably should focus on one idea but I think it would be too boring if I did. I like having variety and each project teaches me different lessons.

Just keep going and try to enjoy the process of building your businesses.

Good advice. I'd also like to suggest exploring whether a mentor or coach could be helpful for you to address idea/product roadblocks, focus and stress. I'd be happy to have a call and chat - I've been working in startups and on my own ideas for nearly two decades.

Sean, I think that is great advice. Having someone to talk through your ideas and have a different perspective on things is very useful.

I'll often have ideas that I'm so passionate will work, but then I sit down and chat through with someone it will make me reconsider and focus.
