How do you keep staying focused on one idea and avoid Shiny New Thing Syndrome?

I generate several startup ideas per week, work a bit on them and then move on to the next one. I feel that I don't sit with my ideas long enough and lose motivation to work on them.

How do you capture your startup ideas to stay focused?

    Hello @ooddaa,

    My two cents:

    • Pick ONE startup idea you have
    • Delay starting working on this idea: let it rest for a few days first
    • During this time, keep writing down everything else you have in mind, but don't work on it
    • Once the delay expired, evaluate how you FEEL about this idea: is this something you would like to pursue? If no, go back to step 1
    • If this idea is appealing to you, do a quick viability assessment: is there a need? can it be monetized? will it help you with your life plan?
    • If the idea survived to the previous step make a rough plan: write down all the steps needed to convert it to a profitable startup. This includes communications, marketing, hiring help, accounting, everything.
    • Hopefully realize that succeeding will take time and commitment.

Use and refine the above steps to "filter" ideas until you find the one and then focus on it only.

What do you think, is this helpful to you?

    Do you follow any influencers?

No I don't, consciously that is.
      Do you?

Ok. I used to, what I have found is we get affected by shiny thing syndrome because we see everyone around us is successful and we are still stuck there so we try to follow them and fail.
