I'm a new freelancer and I have a lot of concurrent projects going on at the same time. I use a variety of organization methods but none of it feels quite "right"...
Between emails, tasks, documents, source code, images, payments/invoices... not to mention prospective clients and leads.
There's just so much to keep track of for each client at the same time. It gets really overwhelming.
What methods do you use to organize all your clients/tasks/projects?
I personally use www.notion.so => it has pretty much everything you need. Otherwise a custom CRM or project management tool like Asana works fine as well
Notion is magic, wow.. I think this is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
they have just added new feature with properties, it kinda changes everything :) can be really one in one tool for wikis, project management, CRM (lightweight) and much more.
Yes, I'm so glad you showed me this... its everything I've ever wanted. I'm still using Google Calendar for now, but I've replaced everything else with Notion in the past day since you told me about it. Haha.
haha, glad you like it! Also their customer support is top notch and I am not even an employee or affiliated with them but just feel sad that not many people know about it!
I keep a pretty simple stack:
I love, love, love Harvest and Things — they're highly functional without bloat.
As they say, the best system is the one you use.
I manage leads through email. Most other things are low-tech. We custom built https://punch.club/ to handle clients, projects, time-tracking and invoicing (using Xero); recently added basic to-do to that which links straight into the time-tracking. We have another in-house product called Bop which tracks domain renewals and hosting invoices, plus DNS and various other things, again integrating with Xero. We've wondered about making Bop available to others, but it'd probably only be useful to web developers rather than the broader business community.
This looks awesome, nice work. Bop sounds pretty useful to me! If you're not interested in marketing it, you could always open-source it and let the community maintain :)
i personally use one tab pages/tabs to organize all of my client information. you can virtually create infinite pages + tabs and can paste literally anything into a one note document. its also easy because it syncs among my laptop (macbook) and desktop so that i do not lose any important information or updates.
