How do you keep track of where you market your SaaS/app/project?

For those who do content marketing on platforms like Twitter, Quora, and even email marketing, how do you keep track of your marketing efforts on all of these different platforms? Do you find yourself forgetting to market on a specific platform due to being so spread out?

    Here is what I do.

    1. I maintain a weekly journal on the Notion Timeline Template
    2. Write a tweet on the same thread every week
    3. Maintain a dev and business excel template
    4. Track on JIRA

There are a variety of ways to do this, but it's important to find a system that works for you and your team. One way to keep track of your marketing is to create a marketing calendar. This can help you keep track of where you've marketed your SaaS/app/project, when you did it, and what the results were. Another way to keep track of your marketing is to use a tracking system like Google Analytics. This can help you see how much traffic your website is getting, where it's coming from, and what people are doing on your site.

I think the strategy of focusing on one channel for a period of is a perfect idea, after you must have mastered it you can begin to do all of them together.

I do it month by month. meaning I will focus on one platform for a month. I used to be spread thin, but then focusing on one place for 30 days helped me do more in less time.

Now I have a twitter muscle, I have a reddit muscle. I can build and promote on lots of different platforms without tracking each and every one. my muscle memory takes over and executes.

I like that idea of focusing on a platform for a month. Seems like a great way to stay focused! Does following this method allow you to be more consistent for promoting your products?

Yes I just do one platform, every single day. 30 days in a row. I know it will end, so I just keep going day after day.

We use different monday boards. If we have an idea for a campaign it comes in board1. If we start working on it (creating content) we push it in board2. If we are finished with the content and plan to go public we push it in board3. If we published it we push it in board4 which is a kind of archive.

It takes quite some time to set it up but once it works it really helps staying on top of the process.

Sounds like a smart idea! Do you have to do this process manually?

we do it manually as we are using monday automations for other processes and we only have a certain amount of automations per month. But, if you have monday automations left you can automate it.

In the beginning we spread it out. But now we mostly focus on one social media platform that gets us the most interaction by far.

Nice! How are you able to stay consistent on that platform?

Now my spouse mostly focuses on social media and he spends a lot of time on that platform. It's his main job. It helps to look at other brands who are on the platform and take what they post as inspo. I use gymshark for a lot of inspo.

I generally just have a handful of channels I'll promote content too consistently.

Thanks for the response. Curious - do you write down somewhere/track the places you market, or just keep them all in your head?

      1. 1

If it's just me I keep them in my head if it's a team member I may write a checklist in Notion.

Cool. I do the same, keep them in my head, but because there are many platforms, I may forget to be on some of them from time to time. I'm building a tool where you can visualize all the different channels you market on, create marketing schedules, view your consistency, maybe receive emails if you haven't promoted on a specific platform in a certain amount of time, etc.

How does this idea sound to you? I'm still trying to form a solid app idea. Any suggestions?

          1. 1

Could be something in it, sort of scheduling for the stuff other than your Social Posts?

I think you'd need to test the idea out on people that post to a lot of sites and fairly often.

            1. 1

What about a tool where you could connect all your social media accounts, tell the app how much you want to post (say 10 times in a month), then you could track how close you were to your goal? Going back to that overall goal of post consistency? Sound like something you would use?

              1. 1

I wouldn't personally need that but I think Social Media scheduling in general is pretty crowded already.
