How do you keep up?

How do you keep up with the latest trends, advances and programming languages?
For the most part. I don't. Keeping up is a thing that slows me down at this point. I'll keep an eye on it, but I don't like to chase the market that much.
I agree, There is a lot more which can consume your whole day but if you're aware of your resources than you're going well.(my opinion)
Just focus on algorithms and principles. Pick one or two languages and master those. I don’t follow trends personally. I prefer to focus on building things I find interesting.

Twitter. I work hard to stick to my guns and not get distracted by all the shiny new things that appear each and every day.
It’s not about the tech, there are devs out there making the big ones with just jQuery and PHP.
Totally. Twitter is one of the best tool to keep up with the latest trends in technology.
If you use twitter in desktop more in comparison to mobo I'd suggest to try out twitterdeck.twitter.com in view of UI.
I usually don't pay too much attention to trends. Constant rush for the new tech isn't really productive and helpful.
But I follow the tech stack I use in everyday life. Mostly by following Twitter accounts and blogs with https://tacodigest.com
Twitter is really useful when it comes to that door. I often use feedly to gather resources in one single feed for better experience.
Finding the right resource (even on twitter or any other) and what matters you the most sometimes becomes time consuming when you're kicking-off.
Twitter, Reddit and the syntax.fm podcast. I like to know what's going on but avoid jumping on shiny new things. I have a modern stack that works and only modify it when I have a clear reason.

I mostly read Hacker News and sometimes Twitter, but don't feel like you have to keep up, you'll go mad if you try to keep up with every little trend, and most stuff comes and goes, especially in the JavaScript / Web world.
I agree XD.
I follow other smart people who seem to keep up with trends.
I'm currently biased towards JS only solutions and usually React for web apps.
That makes it a lot easier to keep up.
As an IH i'm guessing you want to start a business so why does programming languages matter?
React, angular and other JS Frameworks are one of the best solutiona for web apps and in the coming era It might be going to change but not now. I use IH too to keep myself up.
I think programming languages for patterns, paradigms and choosing the right one for your one project could be easy If you know which one do what.
As a dev what's your viewpoint?
There is only 1 stack for web dev if you don't already have one.
React/Supabase (hosted or self hosted)/Fastify on AWS.
You even mentioning angular worries me.

I read top HackerNews posts almost daily and usually YouTube also recommends me new technological announcements (twominutepapers, product releases, etc.).
HackerNews is one of my list to keep myself up. so exactly have you got any list of youtube channels sort of?
Not really, I usually watch what YouTube recommends.
Sometimes it's the mainstream channels like MKBHD, LinusTechTips or TwoMinutePapers.
