It has been a year now that I feel really uncomfortable with Gmail and Outlook features and designs.
Nothing is right:
1️⃣ Search
2️⃣ Classification
3️⃣ Notifications
4️⃣ Way of writing
5️⃣ Attachments
and many others...
👉 What do you think? Do you ❤️ your mailbox?

Gmail has been fulfilling over 80% of my needs, I don't have much to blame.
Regarding the rest of the 20%, I rely on plug-ins like HubSpot, Grammarly.
What's your plan to challenge the mailbox market? @Diane2109, happy to exchange ideas.
Outlook is awful :)
I agree for Outlook. I wanted to exchange with people about the way they use their mailing tool. I personally feel pain:
@Diane2109 Can you elaborate what's the pain finding an email or info in a mail loop?
Re Unread: I will always mark as unread if I need to reply later, would be great if you can make this process more efficient
Re WeTransfer: Indeed. It's not efficient
Re Notion type of writing: Absolutely addictive

I enjoy simple UIs and I’m fond of the Mail app for iOS, I’m sure others may disagree but it’s interface is straightforward. I’m not much of a filter user as I’d rather have everything right there on my inbox for me to parse through. I guess one feature I would like in any mail app is a delete all (whether that’s all mail in a folder or unread... etc)
I enjoy really simple UIs too. I really enjoy Apple Mail client but I feel some features are still missing.

I use Gmail, I think my problem might be different from what you expect. I feel like the Search is fine, Notifications too, Editor is okay and Attachments work. I got rid of all classifications, just have some custom filters. Very nice.
My problem comes from my secondary support gmail for my product. I check in once per day, and anytime I do I get major anxiety. It's hard to see Inbox (19) and not get a little nervous when it comes to support. I was looking for a long time on how to overcome this – maybe a nicer design or some way to structure the inbox, but it's still quite hard.
Are you alone working on your product to treat all the tickets you receive as support? If not, you can use Helpdesks such as Front app or intercom to spread the tickets.
If you are working on your own, I am very interested to exchange deeper with you!

That's what I was thinking :) I am indeed alone, so checking the support email is always the dreaded first task of the day, before I can move on.

Gmail is my favorite right now. It eats up a lot of RAM, but I always find what I need and it's easy to organize things.
Outlook is a nightmare. I use it at work and it's a complete mess. You need to spend hours of configuration to get something professional.
And there is SO MUCH clutter! I never know where to go.

Don't you experiment any pain using Gmail?
If I compare on my machine right now, Gmail takes 350M when Outlook just take 30M.

I love Gmail
I love the search
I don't normally feel pain points with it, I use the more default old style and filters when needed
Both for work in big companies and personally.
Love the spam filter so much I don't think of them often, just when thinking of switching
I'd love to own the control of my own email, but won't do the work and take away search and spam filter quality
