How do you make awesome looking screen recordings for your SaaS demos?

Yesterday I made screen recordings of some of our functions to include in a blog post. It's something but I'm not too satisfied with the quality of them.

I'm looking for an extension or tool or whatever that's preferably free, allows mp4 export and the HD resolution isn't a scaled up 480 video.

Also I'm looking for suggestions on what tool to use to embed the video. I'd really like it if the embed code is editable in a way that the video won't auto start and the video embed is HD by default.

Let me know if you got any suggestions and best practices!

If you're on Mac, you can record high-res screen recordings with Quicktime. Go to File -> New Screen Recording. I would stick with YouTube for embedding. Once you upload a video there, you get access to YouTube Studio, where you can do some light editing and customize the way the video is embedded.

CleanShot X and Screenflow are also great screen recording tools.

Thank you for the suggestions, unfortunately I don't use a Mac :)

If you're just looking for a recording tool, I think screencast-o-matic (silly name) is pretty good. The pro plan is like $15/YEAR or something.

I second that. Use it for a while now.

Can use Vibehut.io to screen record and download in YouTube or TikTok formats as well

I'm confused. How can I create a screenvideo with this?

On the homepage -> New Video Call

Once you join the call you can click "Start Recording" and "End Recording" when you'd like.

Your recording will be in the Calls page afterwards
