How do you monetize your newsletter?

I was thinking about monetizing a newsletter, but after talking to few of the newsletters owners , I have realized one of the major problems they face is in the monetization of their newsletters.
They're unable to find brands/products/businesses to sponsor their newsletter in the form of ads, sponsored product links etc.
So my question to you guys are -
- Do you guys have your own newsletter ? If yes, how do you find brands/business to sponsor you ?
- How's the negotiation process works? How much do you charge ?
- If you're a brand, how do you find relevant newsletters to contact to ?
1 - yes - companies would usually come to us as we got more known in the space we were operating in
2 - I started at around £100, then now it's £500ish - for a top spot. We cross post the newsletter to our website too for added value.
3 - brands should know their landscape, imho, and naturally reach out to people they come across doing interesting things in their landscape.
I do not have a newsletter but you can also use services such as Substack, which lets you monetize the newsletter from subscriptions
