How do you optimize your images for web? Are you happy with the solutions out there?

Would you be willing to pay for a service to assist? What features are you looking for?
I'm using Imgix, storing my original files in Amazon S3. Works pretty good.
I also love and use Imgix. The pricing hasn't been an issue at all.
The one thing they don't do is video, which would be great way to differentiate or offer as a separate service.
I'm toying with the idea of offering an alternative that's differentiated only on pricing - does the $3 per 1000 images part hurt you at all? Would a bandwidth only pricing model be attractive to you at all?
And if you don't mind, which image operations do you consider necessary?
I don't have a lot of images for my content just yet, so I am happy using ImageOptim with ImageAlpha, they pretty much do a great job. Drag and drop, not much hassle. Otherwise I would consider using Imgix, it is very conveniently handled.
Webpack/Grunt/Gulp/nodemon/whatever running imagemin:

Works great with a normal frontend flow.
I have built my own little tool (https://www.stecug.de/tools.html) similar to Imgix (Didn't know it exists. Also why another dependency I have to pay for, if I can build my own in a few hours?). It's basically a bunch of PHP Scripts hosted alongside my project. It resizes and caches the images.
In the page you then just call the PHP Script, tell it the picture url and the size you want. Everything else gets done in the background.

I think it's already oversaturated. I'm on mac and using ImageOptim. It's free and works great. There are many free online/offline solutions available.
