Align with Strategic Objectives
Start by reviewing the organization’s strategic goals and mapping potential initiatives to those goals. Initiatives that deliver the most direct impact should be placed earlier on the roadmap.
Consider Resource Constraints
Look at available resources—people, budget, time—and prioritize initiatives that can realistically be achieved with the resources on hand.
Assess Value vs Effort
Use a value/effort matrix to compare initiatives. Items with high value and low effort are prioritized first, and high-effort/low-value items may be removed or postponed.

Actually, my priorities are based on what I’ve defined as the MVP.
Everything that falls under my MVP scope has the highest priority. And of course, when I start working, I go step by step from the starting funnel (registration) all the way to the final one — payment.
I usually prioritize initiatives with an ICE scoring model (Impact, Confidence, Effort) to quickly compare options. To make the roadmap narrative clearer, I combine it with a “From–To–Because” framing — showing where we are today, where we want to get, and why this initiative will take us there.
