How do you proceed to find your target audience ?

Dear all,

imagine that you have an idea and you want to start talking about it to your future audience to see if this idea could resolve the pain point you have found.

Where are you looking to find people that match your target ? I was told about sub-reddit group or Facebook group (for B2C product) and Slack Channel or LinkedIn group (for B2B product), but is there other ways ?

If anyone have a secret tip to quickly find the audience you seek for ^^

I don't think there is a secret to quickly find your audience.

    unfortunately such task takes time.

You need to first find a niche , find where they hang out like you mentioned in your post places like facebook, reddit , forums , slack, twitter, quora.

You can try to google something like "name of your niche" + forum

"name of your niche" + group on facebook

    Best of luck.

There is no secret. What that someone said, is exactly how you do it. He may have not given you an extensive list, in terms of that you can probably google more places like that (e.g. IndieHackers itself, other open/closed communities, Discords, any other social network like Instagram, Twitter, etc). You can also do the equivalent in the real world and look up meetups or real events where you meet your audience in the real world, but it's still the same gist.

What's wrong with that? I mean, what are you hoping for?
