How do you promote your info product?

Hey,

I wonder how successful info products are being promoted. Do you create email lists, focus on social media or other promotion tactics are more effective?

How do you sustain growth and what are your tricks?

Also how likely a info product without audience or email list would be a success?

Have a look in the comment section of your own thread here to learn how other founders are doing it - participating in online discussions is a good way to start. It's difficult for a small company to generate traffic streams, it's much easier to redirect existing ones like this thread right here.

Also have a look here for a step-by-step guide if your audience is technical: https://syften.com/blog/post/saas_growth_case_studies/ (you never said who your audience is, that's the most important part).

Have you tried building a Twitter audience, scheduling great content (e.g. threads), and plugging your link in your content?

It's a tried and tested method of getting sales for info products, affiliate links, ecom products, etc.

I'm the founder of a Twitter growth tool, and our customers are mostly marketers who have successfully systematized their Twitter content strategy using our platform.

I'll start you off with an article on selling info products on Twitter: https://zlappo.com/blog/5-ways-sell-twitter-get-retweeted-crazy-examples-included/

There are also of course many other relevant articles in my Twitter growth hacking blog.

    Hope this helps, and godspeed!

I talked about my product on a daily basis in the first 30 days after launch. VenturesList is one of my most successful info products so far.

I enjoy sharing how I build, how I grow on social media, here and even in front of my friends. That’s how I gain early traction.

Do you have a mail list for this purpose?

For the project? I made a separate waiting list to gather early interest.

I created my first info product 2 months ago and made almost 100 sales since. It's giant list of 400+ places where to promote your product :p

    Here is what I did:

    • Soft launch on Twitter get my first 20 sales or so, and it's still my best acquisition channel in conversation rate
    • I posted here and on some small subreddit (nocode/sideprojects)
    • I posted on Slack/discord communities, very small impact tho
    • I started to create some content and share it on Reddit/hackernews and get massive traffic from it. Check the blog post I wrote about it.
    • I also started to test LinkedIn groups, Facebook groups and ads but no significative impact so far.

    TL;DR

Spend some time building an audience, that's the most important thing for info product. Twitter is clearly my best option, it takes time to build but the engagement is awesome.

Then, focus on 2/3 communities where your potential customers are and spend a lot of time there, help people, show your expertise and you should be good!

Happy to talk more about it, DM me

Sure, my DM are always open!

That's very clear. I see that Twitter is very strong but I am not sure about its efficiency without couple thousand followers :)

How about email? Did you try to utilize the email channel?

I have 2k followers on twitter but 1.5k of them are just sleeping (my twitter account is super old). I only have ~500 active followers, 90% of them are new people coming since last August when I re-started to build an audience.
You start getting some engagement after ~200 followers, totally do-able!

I didn't test email campaign for now, I only have a welcome email and some updates that I send manually. That's something I'm going to test next month tho.

What's stopping you from doing emails now? Why do you postpone? Sorry, I am asking because I am Email Marketing Specialist in daytime :)

          1. 1

Because I don't have any time in a day and Xmas is coming :)
