How do you promote your service?
I see a lot of posts where people say about they success milestones and it's beautiful.
But I still don't understand/know how and where you promote your products (no paid ways). Give me a couple of advises how you do it, where you get your first users/subscribers/customers. I think it will be useful for everyone.

Before starting with a channel (like FB Groups, for example), see if there are any people in your niche there. For example, there are plenty of Coupon FB Groups, and you could post something like:
"Hey guys, most of you aren't aware that you can apply coupons when shopping on Amazon. I'm building an extension that does that automatically for you & I've been able to get some discounts like on the pictures below (note: post some pictures in the post of before/after the coupon prices). Need some beta testers to see if my extension would be useful to anyone. Let me know in the comments if you're interested. Thanks!".
I always wondered about that as well. People will say "Yeah, I posted on Facebook groups". But what did they post exactly? How did they find the relevant groups? That never helped me. So I started collecting real detailed stories, with screenshots. Here are a few:

It really depends. Fellow devs/makers are my target customer for divjoy.com so I focus on:
For some products you need to focus on SEO to reach your target customer, get on the phone and cold call, run paid ads, start a free newsletter in the niche to attract leads, etc.
