How do you run your company Twitter?

I'm trying trying to increase the presence of Writing Analytics on social media. I did some research, and it seems that business accounts get significantly lower engagement compared to individuals despite having lots of followers.

I've seen countless established businesses with 5k - 50k followers and consistent single-digit likes/retweets/comments on their content.

Is that expected? Are there any examples of businesses with more organic engagement/reach on Twitter?

If this is the reality, is it worth growing a business account for a bootstrapped company? Or would you rather grow your personal brand and share stuff related to your company there?

It's definitely harder to do it as business.

I've been doing it for Indie Hackers, and it does better than most (humble brag) - https://www.indiehackers.com/post/how-i-do-twitter-for-indie-hackers-d237b65c92

I think it's easier when there is a community to talk about. Or if you have something to educate people about.

@harrydry has done well with Marketing Examples.

I would love to see examples of other company Twitter accounts that do well.

That's a great post. Thanks for sharing! The number of impressions is probably a better metric for reach than likes and comments – as you say.

I'll be using some of your ideas for sure :).

Also lots to learn from @harrydry

+1 to @rosiesherry's comments and the Marketing Examples page.

I love the look and feel of Writing analytics @radek. What did you use to build the site?

      Thank you, Gordon!

I built the landing page using 11ty. It’s a simple JS static site generator. The template & CSS are custom.

The best way is to give them a reason to follow your business. Most accounts post strictly links.. no one wants to see that. Those tweets get ignored and it leads to low engagement. Posts with links should get mixed in among other engaging content.

I’ve been building up @culturecrave, and I focus on bringing the most important pop culture updates. It’s a strategy I previously used at @getfandom - which resulted in really high engagement compared to other businesses in our niche

I don't have any experience in this realm but a business account that I've been impressed with that seems to have good engagement is https://twitter.com/gumroad.

That's a really good shout! Thanks!
