How do you start a local technology news site?
I had an idea to start a local tech news site/blog after noticing my local area lacked one. The ones out there are either outdated or really bad (think old WP site from early 2000s). My question is mainly how does one get the latest news from the local area while working full time?
What would be some ideas for the local tech blog other than news?
What are some ways this blog could generate revenue?
I was also thinking the blog could have a local tech jobs board for the companies in the surrounding area.
I'm not sure. In Dallas we have a local tech site, http://launchdfw.com/ . I'm not sure how he monetizes but he gets local businesses to sponsor local technology events. Theres a community slack and he's pretty responsive to anything you ask. worth a shot

Have you tried going to or setting up meetups? Getting a large network of people to share what they're seeing would be a great source of news (and those people could also be consumers).
I have been to meetups but not with the intent of something like this. I guess I could start going and asking around and networking.
