How do you stay motivated?

I find it very hard to stay motivated when small things are going wrong, even though the bigger picture is going good. Things can be worse yet you feel demotivated.

Something that helps me is to take some time to think bigger, and re excite your brain on what you can accomplish.

It’s almost recreates the same motivation and energy you have when you first have the idea or hunch to start your business.

Anything else you guys do?

Alot of people will tell you to think about your goals, focus on the big picture and all these Jedi mind tricks but truth is you can't just you can't just push through life with sheer will power so you must have a support system for when you run out of will power and feel unmotivated, that can differ from for each person but generally finding the right circle of friends or in some cases a spouse that directly or indirectly inspire you to do better is your best choice.

My motivation comes from being able to quit my cushy 9-5

I agree with @Nero_ceo, it's important to have a support network. People who you can talk to about what's going wrong and they'll either help find solutions or reminder you of everything that's gone right.
I have a password protected WordPress site and I create monthly update posts. At the end of each month I publish the posts and they automatically email to my advisory board. I tell myself a lie that if I don't accomplish enough the advisory board will jump down my throat.
I deal with extreme anxiety/PTSD from a near-fatal crash a few years ago. I created a simple script on Android that picks a random phrase from a DB and speaks it into my headphones. Originally it was just things like "bad driver's aren't malicious, they're just stupid" but recently I've added things like "picture Lakebed successful" and "imagine Lakebed successful enough to provide internships to under privileged youth who might not otherwise get the chance".
Finally, I went and found a bunch of short business success stories/quotes. When I'm stretching and doing physio instead of just counting to 30 seconds I read a success story that takes 30 seconds to read. I figure this is a more effective use of my time and, hopefully, keeps me motivated.

    Hope that helps,

Oh, also I use Yodiz for user story and project management. It is the first app I've found that is free for small teams and provides a burndown chart with no extra effort on my part.

I like your suggestion of thinking bigger, that works for me too. Two other tricks I have found useful over the years:

Making extremely detailed todo lists. If I don't feel sufficiently motivated to get started, I will usually feel motivated enough to make a very detailed todo list. Afterwards it's easier to get started, because you don't have to conceptualize what you're going to do, you just have to cross items off a list.

The other trick is a bit counter-intuitive. Sometimes the urge to procrastinate seems like my gut is telling me I'm working on the wrong thing, or I'm not spending my time effectively. If I try to make the best possible argument against doing what I feel like I should be doing, I will usually either get motivated again, or change my strategy. An example of this is spending too much time ironing out every possible kink in a product, rather than releasing an MVP.
