I'm thinking about the 'best' way for me to organize my days. Pick an option in the poll and tell me in the comments why that works for you.
I don't organize my days.
I plan my work around energy. Creative Energy vs Physical energy. I ride the wave up and down.
Interesting, what does that look like? Do you just have an empty calendar and list and just go with the flow?
100% empty calendar. I used to have a full full calendar and lived moment to moment by the calendar. meetings, task, etc. And found that when I cleared it, even 1 meeting, 1 scheduled call would kill an entire day. I would focus on it and not let it leave my brain, even working on other things. so now, clear as the sky.
Code snips in the same place as tasks, interesting!
I do a mix of Analog & Hybrid: Bullet journal for "quick" planning in the morning/evening. To-do List for quick things when they come up so that I don't forget them.
Long-term planning always happens in my own Project Management App (shameless plug π)
But I also do it based on the task and condition/energy for the day which I already mentioned in another comment.
Bullet Journal is π₯
Is your to-do list built into your bullet journal, or is that a separate notebook/app?
It's a mix I'd say. Sometimes I get a bit more into detail in my Bujo (subtasks, ...) but most of the time it's high-level "planning" or at least what should and could be done.
If I go into detail it most of the time gets digital. Also if I know I'd need the todos on the go where again the Bujo is just a high-level plan.
Todos are either in Todoist (acts like a "todo dump") or in Bardo for more detailed planning because it tells me how long it probably will take me, based on previous and similar tasks.
Seeing this trend of analog for high-level planning, apps for details
Yeah, guess nothing will ever beat pen & paper for early drafts, whether it's design or anything else.
I know you haven't asked me π but maybe there's something useful in this for you:
I have a weekly planner that I made myself and I have a Bullet Journal to plan my day, it includes my TODO list.
I just prefer sitting down in the morning and writing down things by hand because I spend 90% of my time in front of the computer and I like the haptics of it plus that I won't be distracted by what else would be going on on my computer
Same here, hard to beat the clarity of pen+paper.
You could say it like that in a couple words instead of rambling like me but where's the fun in that ππ
hybrid for sure. sometimes I also write it down in my notebook. recently started blocking time in my calendar so I know during specific hours I'll be tackling specific things.
Very hybrid! Time blocking is π―, even if it's demanding
