How do you tackle bounce back & bad conversion rate? Need feedback...

There is more and more traffic on the website for colofon.io.

But people tend to spend 3s and close it. They don't even try the app. (an email is enough to get through)

I was wondering if regarding what I built and from your experience, you could give me some feedback on how to improve that.

Thanks

Ever heard of Zig Ziglar? "Every sale has five basic obstacles: no need, no money, no hurry, no desire, no trust."

Here's where your landing falls short:

    • no need: not sure what problem I have as a writer that will be solved by your app
    • no money: in your case, it's more about not knowing how much it will cost me
    • no desire: the design isn't appealing to me
    • no hurry: I'm not writing a book at the moment, so I don't feel any pressure to try the app
    • no trust: usually you put testimonials, but since it's a beta I would also expect to be able to download my data in a standard format at any point in time if the service stops or if I can't afford your prices (since I know nothing about them). Also, wait until I'm in to tell me how to report bugs ; should it really be one of your lengthiest sections on the landing?

That's all good points. I'm gonna look into that.

      Thanks

Two things come to my mind immediately:

    1. Traffic sources: Do all sources of traffic bounce off? Maybe people coming from a particular source are bouncing more while some others stay. If this is the case you can double down on sources from which people stay.

    2. IMO start writing CTA seems like too much commitment from the get go. In the era of short term attention spans and everybody on the go, maybe something like "See how it works" type of CTA will lower the bar for people to at least try it out.

    Hi,

    • Not a fan of the name (but I'm not your target audience)
    • Try "The Best Tool for Writers" rather than "Cloud-based writing app built to provide the best tool for blah blah blah"
    • Soooo much text .... it could be "the best site for readers".
    • I scrolled below the fold (rapidly) to pricing and understood nothing.

    The good news:

    • You know you have 3s to grab them.
    • So say something amazing that takes 2s to comprehend.

    Best of luck

By the way, I added Google Sign In yesterday so, hoping for the best.
