How do you talk to people to figure out what problems to solve
I always have a ton of ideas for projects that I think would solve a problem based on my own problems and what I see people talking about on the internet.
Building these ideas before talking to people to figure out what their problems are isn't the best strategy. I'm curious about what other Indiehackers do to go out and talk to people to figure out what problems to work on.
- How do you search for people who might have a problem you're interested in solving?
- What sites are good for searching for people?
- How do you initiate the conversation without talking about your ideas?
Google it, depending upon what problem your trying to solve. You may be able to find customer complaints, negative reviews on similar ideas. Something I heard/saw from Steve Jobs, I may misquote it. "People don't know what they want. When they do, by the time you build it they want something else."
Put your ideas out there than iterate until you and they get what they want. The light bulb was a stupid idea until it lit up the room.
