How do you track AWS spending?
For those of you that run your apps in the cloud - especially on AWS infrastructure - how do you monitor your costs?
EDIT: I'm more looking for a solution beyond the billing manager and CloudWatch billing alerts. Something that handles things like cost fluctuations etc.
Can you expand on what you mean by cost fluctuations? When I look at our control panel, I can see usage over time.
Mostly, anomalies. Like when you are running for a period of time and your costs have been growing linearly and suddenly they spike.
You can see the cost in billing section. Always have an alert when the cost reaches certain level otherwise you might get huge bill at the end of the month.
Always terminate services as you are done with them.

Use Tags !! Run a lambda which periodically searches for your tag and deletes the resources . Keep a standard tag o all your resources .

I have consolidated billing at the org level to see where the cash is going

Do you track cost fluctuations as well?
I have to login into the Billing manager and hope for the best! If I am scoping a service, I use the price calculator to get a rough estimate.
